The UKMO have now extended their hourly forecasts to day 10, unfortunately that doesn't include, visibility, gusts or UV.
If they included MSLP, like they do with their smartphone app, I could add isobars.😉

Big REFS Transition Project 2 (SPC REFS viewer v1) is functionally complete. I sent a version around to SPC forecasters for a final pass at bugs this afternoon (though I realized I had a few more 5-minute tweaks I wanted to make when grabbing these screenshots).

Recon just for the third time in a row found an XTRAP MSLP in the low 910s. This indicates that the intensity of Hurricane Polo has remained relatively stable over the last few hours at around 150 knots 914 mbar as transmitted by NHC via ATCF for 1800Z fix
September 25, 2026 at 7:38 PM
Air force hurricane hunters may have missed the center of Nolo. Because they just recorded 700 mbar FL winds of 106 knots (95 knts SFC) on the east side but the XTRAP MSLP was only 977 mbar. This seems really high for such a windspeed, especially at rather large RMW.

00z GFS winds up making “landfall” in South Jersey by Sunday afternoon. Dumps a general 2-3” of rain on most of New Jersey and Philly metro.
September 25, 2026 at 4:06 AM
And yet the 00z RRFS still ends up “landfalling” our storm in New Jersey. And it still dumps a general 1-3” of rain on the entire state.

By hour 40, the 00z HRRR shows a 986 mb storm with maximum 66 mph near-surface winds around its center. #njwx

The 18z Hi-Res NAM is a bit NE of the regular NAM and shows heavy rain over all of New Jersey and a 987 mb not all that far off the SE NJ coast at the end of its 60-hour run at 2 a.m. Sunday. What’s concerning here is that this run is showing 2-4” of rain […]

18z NAM follows similar track as the 18z RRFS, but loops over Delmarva and goes back east. The NAM shows a much weaker storm than the RRFS, but is more of a rainmaker with over 6” of rain near Atlantic City. Basically shows 2”+ rainfall along and southeast […]

Once again, the RRFS shows a hurricane-force storm storm with a 971 mb central pressure and 77 mph winds south of the center at 18z. This is actually west of its 12z run. The storm eventually landfalls near the southern Delaware border with Maryland’s […]

Do not like these Euro ensemble members out here. This is a bad signal for NJ.
September 24, 2026 at 7:04 PM
I totally forgot about this morning's 06z Euro-AI in context with those southwest/stronger mesoscale model runs at 12z. The Euro-AI, which — I will now say — has been pretty consistent this entire cycle, also tucked the low right next to NJ without first […]

That said…the new ICON-EPS and GEFS ensembles both show a decent W/SW lean to them. Not sure we can totally discount what the CAMs are showing right now. #njwx
September 24, 2026 at 4:27 PM
The 12z RRFS now showing—verbatim—hurricane-force winds near the surface around a 974 mb low. Found 67 knots/77 mph just south of the core. Also, those are near-50 mph winds at the NJ coast. #njwx
September 24, 2026 at 3:23 PM
Interesting...the 12z HRRR seems to be pushing west much earlier farther south than on other guidance, bringing 50+ mph winds right into much of the Jersey Shore. Also, verbatim, at the end of its run, the 12z HRRR shows a 983mb storm with 62-knot winds […]

Just took a look at the 18z Met Office ensembles, which I never use, to see how they look against the 18z UKMET run. And, of course, the ensembles are well east of the operational run.
September 24, 2026 at 1:51 AM
Well, this better news. The 18z Euro-AI
(first image) finally shifted east and it just does a small loop before exiting to the NE from this point in the run. Not such great news is that the 18z Euro (2nd image) jumped east...only to do that ridiculous ICON-like loop back into NJ. 🤷‍♂️
