Did you know that there is an herb garden for the primates at Lincoln Park Zoo? The team grows different herbs and flowers for the apes. Magadi and Susie both enjoy zinnias. Magadi is not picky and will check anything out, but Susie's #1 favorite is fresh parsley!

Spur-winged lapwing, zipping around on the shores of Lake Magadi in Ngorongoro Crater. This lakeshore provides resources for enormous numbers of globally threatened species, though this lapwing remains safely and happily common.

Greater flamingo in a freshwater stream flowing into Lake Magadi in Ngorongoro Crater, 2022. The stream lets these #birds clean salt from feathers. Massive rainfall from ENSO meant Magadi’s alkalinity 📉, depth 📈. Most flamingoes left in 2023.
