I am going to finish this 🦆ing chapter this week.

Ok, I wrote a bit. Never enough! Why am I having so much trouble organizing my thoughts on this section?!

How's your dissertation going, Nava?

Well, I'm adding to three different threads about the book daily, in the lead-up to the November 10 publication date...

Sadly, the project I finished last night super late was not the project I was actually supposed to be working on, so I have all of the exhaustion and none of the triumphant break. #MagistraWentBackToSchool #YearSevenStartsNow

Worked out a small tangle in this chapter. Time to take a two week break from writing, no?

Up early: day one of two-week-long dissertation boot camp. Let's goooooo (by which I mean can I knock off working immediately after and pretend like it's summer for me?)

Exhibit A: Which one do I attack first? (One is a reread and one is likely to be a hate read.)

Exhibit B: Finished I, Medusa (& I have thoughts!) and If Looks Could Kill (HIGHLY recommend) last week.

Waiting for communication from last fellowship that says sorry you didn't get it. Thought it was coming in February & tomorrow is February 30, isn't it? CV ready in case of adjunct opportunity, so that's one thing I've got. (🎶)

This chapter is getting finished tonight. (Not necessarily well.)

This is a lovely sentiment! My next chapter (if I can ever bring this #Athena chapter to completion...) examines #Medusa in #kidlit (=YA&middle grade) as an agent of social justice, esp. for girls & women!

Inspiration as I prepare to submit my Ariadne chapter tonight!!

(I have a deadline tomorrow)

soon it's...

Two pieces of nice news, all bundled up into one course announcement! More to follow on both, in due time. #MagistraWentBackToSchool

A point Trites makes that I had already been thinking about is that texts can appear progressive/transgressive but ultimately reinforce status quo. I see this outside of literature, in discourse, as well. Is there a name for this process as a rhetorical move?

Happy December 17! In light of Saturnalia, I will be posting seven days of the worst (best) of my #MagistraJokes from the other website.

Starting with one of my own, circa 2019...

This morning on Bluesky has felt like the good times on 🐦. Some fun, some professional stuff, some thinking about issues. Now I need to go write! #MagistraWentBackToSchool #AmWriting
