A new resource for Latin teachers/learners: a tiered reader of Cicero's "Pro Archia". If you're new to tiered readers, the volume introduction provides a great overview of what they are and how they can be helpful to students. PDF is free online: pixeliapublishing.org/cicero-pro-a...

We saw a ship come sailing in... a rather fine Narbonnese sailing ship going past a lighthouse on this mosaic from Ostia. #MosaicMonday #ClassicsBluesky 🏺

Io Saturnalia! Have you bought your radishes in good time? An odd question you might think, but it seems to have been an important ingredient for the festivities held at a Roman fort, almost 2000 years ago.

1500 year old patisserie and a pretzel at British Museum Silk Roads exhibition. Or so didn't say the properly cautious museum label. They may be Hubing, foreign bread or cakes, that became popular at Chang'an. The site is really dry, which is why they survived.
