Fischer wanted the basses to sit in the center of the orchestra, as in a 2022 performance he led of Mahler's First. The orchestra declined. Fischer will be replaced by Andrés Orozco-Estrada.

Meine Eltern haben mit Mitte 20 schon begeistert Mahler gehört, bei mir hat es doppelt so lange gebraucht bis ich Mahler in mein Hör-Repertoire von Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Vivaldi, Bach, Händel, Verdi, Bellini etc. aufgenommen habe. 🙈
