Today in #metadata librarian land. I love it when MarcEdit saves me. I was toodling out a lil python script and remembered the MarcMerge. Did my task licksplittedly. I like programming but I like out of the box solutions way more.

My morning: spend 30 minutes writing a pymarc script to do something, it doesn't work, I get frustrated for a few minutes, and then realize I could have just done the thing with MarcEdit to begin with.

Wrangling with vendor-supplied #MARCrecords for a digitised archival collection of monographs, serials, manuscripts, transcripts etc using #MarcEdit
Why? To ensure correct fixed-field coding for resource-type mapping in our discovery layer; 'Other' is not a helpful resource-type! #MetadataMatters
