A few pics of Ellicott City, Maryland, spent a lot of time here with friends in my younger years; driving the infamous College Avenue, AKA "Seven Hills" nearby then hanging in the eclectic shops and antique stores that once lined Main Street.

Speaking of Nazism, the former King of England and his wife, Wallace Simpson of Baltimore, would see this every morning when they woke up at the Monkton, MD estate of their dear friend, Mr. Harvey Ladew, now Ladew Topiary Gardens.

#OtD in 1938, a strike began among crab pickers, mostly Black women, in Crisfield, Maryland's packinghouses. It continued until May 10.
