A gorgeous quartet to celebrate #MosaicMonday, beautifully preserved in the Neptune Building at the site of ancient Itálica, Seville. Would love to know what the central image of the bottom left mosaic was!

Our Co-General Editor has been allowed out again, using the (top deck of a double decker), bus as a tool for understanding local history. #Skystorians
On the bus and (a new and useful bit of accessibility legislation), stops have to be announced and named.

What I’m struck by is the embodied memory on this semI-rural route. There is no farm at Oakridge, Watts Cross is unmarked, Turner’s Nursery now under houses. Reminders of a lost mid century.

@amlibraryassoc.bsky.social Please explain. The students whose library school applications I support with letters of recommendation love books. What is going on?

(Sorry to my IG followers who know this already!)

🎬 I wrote & presented a documentary about Penistone’s (small town in South Yorkshire) links to the Civil War which premiered at their Film Festival!

This was exclusive to the festival only, but I’ll be creating more things soon! ⭐️

Say, Lawrence Douglas from Amherst College wrote two novels but they are contemporary. So not that.

Field day for #Skystorians teaching the industrial revolution this week. Have a read of the Tony Blair Institute's potted IR history, cited in its September 2026 'Hard Tech, Hard Power' paper.

'Modernity, as we currently understand it, was conceived in England in the mid-eighteenth century.'

'A 1,000-year-old embroidery may be an unusual candidate for a pop culture moment, but young people are seemingly more willing to shell out for tickets for the Bayeux tapestry than spend money on Hollywood blockbusters.' #Skystorians
