Today I learnt:

If you have a circle drawn entirely within another, then the diagonals of the "circum-inscribed" quadrilateral will intersect on the line which passes through the centres of the circles.

Upgraded our digging area with a canopy, scales, numbers & fresh visuals. Kids loved hunting for golden nuggets—measuring, comparing, and discussing heavy/light, more/less, up/down. Great for maths talk, teamwork & curiosity! 🌟⛏️⚖️ #EYFS #OutdoorLearning #MathsTalk #PlayToLearn #EarlyYears

This is how you prove #Pythagoras theorem, but for when you can't remember how to draw a right angle.

Primary 2 set out to build a tower taller than Mrs Stewart — and they smashed it! 🏗️ So much amazing maths: measuring, estimating, comparing heights, talking fractions (“It’s only half of Mrs Stewart — we need to double it!”) & exploring scale. #MathsTalk #STEM #LearningThroughPlay #MetaSkills

What's this? Oh it's episode 4 of #Un-NaturalNumbers

With the magnificent @steckl.es and @paddymaths.bsky.social.

Give it a watch if you're in the mood for Klein groups, Harshad numbers and Modulo 4 arithmetic.

Just brushing up on my knot theory ahead of #Un-NaturalNumbers the maths chat show all about numbers.

Tomorrow we record episode 3, on the number 3. And I am planning to talk on knot theory.

See if you can find the significance, and whilst you wait have a go at this

Today I learnt:

The symbol for infinity has a name, it is a "Lemniscate" to mean "ribbon".

One version takes its definition from the locci of points with a constant product of distances from two fixed foci.

Today's #MathArtMarch is Growth. Day 9. Again its my work on the Seymour Second Neighborhood Conjecture. I varied the value of the minimum degree nodes (1 through 7) and we see how the graph changes. #math #mathsky #compsky #compsci #graphtheory #mathtalk #mathstalk #mathchat #mathartchallence

Today's #MathArtMarch is the Weak Decreasing Exteriors Lemma which demonstrates my work on the Seymour Second Neighborhood Conjecture. What we see in the images is that we start with a pentagon -> square -> triangle -> no cycle possible in 2 nodes

I'm researching Apollonius ahead of next week's #TheMathematiciansPodcast. I would love to say I'm using this as the source material, but we all know that's a lie.

It's still beautiful to see a 9thC book that looks like it could easily be a modern student's notes.
