In infamous words of James Murray, why #McCannReview cannot be final word on #LoanChargeScandal.

With 'reviewer' not having final say on published recommendations how can it be 'independent'?

"Plainly I am not independent"
(Ray McCann 2019) - quite the admission from 'independent' reviewer #LoanChargeScandal #McCannReview on eve of publication of his review (into settlement terms).

Thank you to Angus Macdonald MP
for written question.

The Treasury is having private discussions about the #McCannReview recommendations, on top of the significant restrictions on it.

We’ve written to Ray McCann urging him to disown the whole review if he’s not allowed to resolve the #LoanChargeScandal.

“#McCannReview presented by Gov as way to end #LoanChargeScandal. In reality, will not allow 000's to settle, meaning whole scandal will drag on for years to come."

LCAG has written to Chancellor highlighting major issues and recommended solutions.

LCAG welcomes meeting invitation from Exc. Sec. to Treasury Dan Tomlinson (@Dan4Barnet), if genuine discussion #McCannReview & potential changes, but if no intent to listen or adapt then meeting pointless. Responses to earlier letters also required.

Perfect example is Labour's approach to #LoanChargeScandal, in opposition recognise "victims of mis-selling" and commit to 'independent' Review. In power, #McCannReview simply to 'encourage' victims to pay up.

Meanwhile risk more #LoanChargeSuicides rises, 10 (+13 attempts) so far.
