I doubt there are that many people who follow me who don't know this already but THE most efficient way to run a government is to just tax people such that wealth is redistributed the way you want, and then provide the services universally. Meanstesting is waste of time and costs tons of overhead.

Medicaid for All Who Want It was a purposeful policy position, not to "Fix" or "Uprade" Medicaid but to keep it means tested so people go broke and homeless due to healthcare costs.

This is a class problem, not a generational problem. Tax the shit outa the wealthy, then you don’t have to pay that extra for meanstesting and don’t wind up forcing people in abusive situations to stay there because on paper they’ve got money.

It's important to know how we got here. In the 70s we started valuing capital over labor. All the gains from post-war productivity went to the investor class not the workers who created it. Due to the cap on contributions, SS was starved for revenue as the rich got richer. #RaiseTheCap #MeansTesting

aren't a lot of really rich guys (though have lots of money!) so to 'save' by meanstesting childcare, or whatever, you have to hit people in the $100K+ crowd. Then of course you meanstest *everything* at that level and those people understandably feel screwed with a very high effective tax rate

A lot of people never saw a dime of that thanks to meanstesting, but there was also no way to build on that cause people didn't turn out to vote in the midterms so even if he wanted to do more, which I don't think he did, he couldn't have tried to do more anyways without winning in 22.

They're also pull yourself up by your bootstraps and for meanstesting anyone getting aid, but they shut down the House so frequent that it is hard to tell if they spent any time actually working this term.
