Der Junikäfer Amphimallon ruficorne gehört wie die Maikäfer zu den Melolonthinae, einer Unterfamilie der Blatthornkäfer. Die Larven dieser Vertreter ernähren sich von Pflanzenwurzeln.

Die Art fliegt vorwiegend vormittags - wichtiges Detail für Kartierungen!

So this is Cetonini not Melolonthini, clasification in Scarabaeidae, Melolonthinae is a bit confusing. In Europe Cetonini are known as rosechafers and Melolontha as junebeetles.
