Manic Street Preachers and Suede were both stunning tonight in Manchester. Both covering every emotion in a celebration of guitars and song. Reminded me of this great remix James Dean Bradfield did for the Membranes - he should have let this one for himself. youtu.be/qzYNkvQpGwg?...

Cholesterol availability drives the assembly of mitochondria-associated ER membranes
Mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membranes (MAM domains, or MAMs) are transient lipid raft domains of the ER that coordinate multiple cellular metabolic pathways and the ER-mitochond...

Ended up doing some practice sketches figuring out more bat wing stuff. Really interesting how the wing membranes fold and tuck around the back, seeing how that could apply to Root

Honestly... kinda seems like it'd be better if it repairing/enchanting was reworked to need materials over XP. I still like my idea of Phantom Membranes being like a universal repair material. The direct material should be a lot more efficient but I like Membranes as a sort of "bulk renewable item"

Gotta love membranes that are somehow breathable but look airtight

The membranes are getting a little stretched, yee. But it’s okay they are very stretchy, Root is still comfortable (just a little bemused)

While I had my camera out, I rephotographed Kalanzar, now that I have a big enough lightbox for her. (She wanted me to make sure you knew, she doesn't skip wing day at the gym).

Here's a paper after my own heart: a survey of how interfaces and confinement change water at the nanoscale. The authors point out that in many systems of interest, water is of this nature, so we shouldn't regard it as anomalous.

Water at the molecular frontier
Much of the water that matters most - flowing through biological cells and membranes, percolating through soils and rocks, or processed by filtration and desalination technologies - is not bulk water....

Best part is, *he's* a mad scientist now. At one point he was working on synthetic nanomaterials that could simulate parts of cell membranes. His wedding is coming up in a year or so, and his spouse-to-be is quite nice.
