It's amazing little difference adding a fancy keyboard makes to how quickly you can type on a ZX81. The keyboard is still scanned at the same (slow) rate.

Found a Memotech keyboard for the ZX81 that doesn't appear to be used. I'm not usually a "box" person but this is a nice one. Will have to try it out the next time Sinclair is in the "review and see if everything still works" rotation. #vintagecomputer #retrcomputer

Minulla oli Memotech tietokone 1980-luvulla. Sitten oli ST Atari myöskin.
Aika on kovasti muuttunut niistä päivistä, kun näitä kyseisiä koneita pyöriteltiin.
Sitten tulivat purkit ja internet. Kirjekuori, missä puhelinlasku tuli piti avata hiljaa, hiljaa hiipien ja ai kauheeta mitä sieltä tuli.
Aika on kovasti muuttunut niistä päivistä, kun näitä kyseisiä koneita pyöriteltiin.
Sitten tulivat purkit ja internet. Kirjekuori, missä puhelinlasku tuli piti avata hiljaa, hiljaa hiipien ja ai kauheeta mitä sieltä tuli.

Wyatt uses a Memotech MTX 512 computer paired with an FDX floppy disk expansion unit to create her. You used to have to work on optimization of your code.

Day 51 - #retrorandom - I'm starting to realise I keep a pretty messy workbench from the pictures I'm posting here. And today, among the mess, we find my Memotech MTX512. It didn't take much to make it work, I just needed to take it apart, push the chips in and re-assemble ... 1/2

Today I learned the Memotech MTX was a thing! An 8-bit home computer released by the British company Memotech. This image from Nick Myheer is package art for the game Super Minefield (1983) from Continental Software. Super cool!

40 years ago, the great Euro micro shakeout was all but done. Acorn was toast (joining Dragon, Oric, Texas, Sharp, Memotech, et al). Even the good news - Lynx rising from the ashes - didn't happen. And Commodore halved the price of the Plus/4 (which was still a waste of money).
