This is "The Weir at Burley" by Phyllis Bray from 1932. Phyllis married John Cooper in 1931 & his family home was at Menston near Otley in Wharfedale so the both painted extensively in the area as a result. #PhyllisBray #Wharfedale #Yorkshire #EastLondonGroup

This is "Knaresborough" by Phyllis Bray from 1931. Phyllis' new husband (they were married in 1931), John Cooper's family home was at Menston in Yorkshire just under 20 miles from Knaresborough & the both painted not dissimilar views of the town at that time. #PhyllisBray #EastLondonGroup

Here's one that I've only ever shown here rarely. This is "Weston Hall" by John Cooper. It is undated but I suspect that it comes from between 1931 & 1933. Weston Hall is just a few miles from Cooper's family home at Menston in Yorkshire. #JohnCooper #Yorkshire #EastLondonGroup
