The Environmental Protection Agency is failing to protect the environment and public health.

Rules created during the Biden administration to crack down on methane leaks are now being scaled back.

The UK backed the Global Methane Pledge at COP26, committing to cut 30% methane by 2030.

Mitigating methane from coal mine shafts is a quick win opportunity.

The proven technology for #MitigatingVAM exists and is now operational at the Aberpergwm colliery near Glynneath.

H2 from methane is simply a bad idea.

Rolling back methane emissions standards is another attack on our land, water and air.

This administration keeps putting our communities at risk by weakening critical protections and threatening our public lands.

First of all, Blue Hydrogen requires even more methane than regular old hydrogen manufacturing bc methane is used to power the carbon capture machinery.

CO2 emissions are somewhat lower for the blue stuff, but its methane leaks are higher, and methane is a more powerful greenhouse gas.

Thanks to #JWST, astronomers have detected infrared emission from methane on W1935, a brown dwarf located 47 ly away which is cold and lacks a host star.

This unexpected result suggests atmospheric heating by auroral processes.

"Natural gas" and "LNG" were always methane and liquid methane.
Natural gas is "a nothing term", pure hogwash.
(Liquid) Methane is what it is, climate risks included.

It's Liquid Methane Canada, Woodfibre Liquid Methane, Cedar Liquid Methane etc.

The 2024 federal methane rule provides a roadmap to cut pollution from a major methane source: oil & gas. Colorado has already adopted these standards and proven methane reductions, including from marginal wells, are achievable. Why go backward? @momscleanairforce.org

Beware accounting tricks that let governments & companies do what they’ve always done (or not very much) & claim they are helping the climate.

It’s widely acknowledged that methane emissions need to significantly fall—and cutting methane can rapidly reduce warming while we reduce CO2 emissions too.

@anthonymoser.com is correct: stealing work using Sam Altman's methane fuelled stealing program is rude, and it deserves a rude response.

The models find a useful trade-off. Disequilibrium chemistry reduces methane opacity and boosts the inversion, cutting the energy required.

Heating placed deeper in the atmosphere matches the observed methane emission better than heating kept only at the top.

The Ks photometry is interesting because of the deep methane absorption at 2.3 microns, I'm not sure about the z-band analysis. I don't know much of methane absorption there. I think it's the 2.3 microns that's saying there isn't much methane or at least there isn't as big of a drop as Eris/Makemake
