Friendly reminder that Senator Klobuchar’s father was a sportswriter for the StarTrib and she literally wrote a book on the Metrodome. She knows sports and facts. 🏀✅

Verlander was the last active pitcher to have pitched in the Metrodome.

Crazy how time flies.
My goodness, what an incredible moment. After Justin Verlander secured the final out of his career, Tigers manager A.J. Hinch came out of the dugout...to summon Verlander's daughter out to embrace her dad on the mound.

Twins' final announced attendance — aka tickets sold/given away — this season: 1,733,203

That is 35,525 fewer than last season and ranks 25th out of 30 teams.

It's the Twins' lowest announced attendance since 2000 at the Metrodome, with Tom Kelly managing and David Ortiz at DH.

The Twins report they sold 1,733,203 tickets over their 80 games at Target Field this year. That’s a ballpark low.

Their lowest attendance total since 2000 in the Metrodome. The Twins drew 1.769 million in 2025.

Weirdly when I hear TB and Cannons I think of Cris Carter catching a touchdown but the cannon sound, or maybe fireworks? went off actually before he caught it. That almost had to be in MN in the old Metrodome though.

Not entirely sure this even happened, but it always comes to mind.

We can’t remake the Metrodome, but we can make the Twins bring back the baggie and the giant jug of milk in US Bank Stadium for fun

Penultimate one - another Junior Style dub. Last heard this played out by Metrodome/Joey T when they were B2B at Freight Island over the summer. #RaveyardShift

2011 was one of the great pitching seasons in history. He was always a favorite, I saw him a ton in person back then at the Metrodome, his fastball was different

The Metrodome crowd wasn’t because of the Dome …

One other thing to watch this weekend: Attendance. @twinsbaseball.bsky.social are running about 41,000 behind last year, when season total of 1,768,728 was the smallest in Target Field history and the smallest since 2000 at the Metrodome.

was that the one that went from one locale to the metrodome parking lot?

seen this a bunch at the old Astrodome. guys just losing it. Metrodome was bad for it; the first few years of SkyDome I saw some funny “lost it in the ceiling/lights” moments

was the roof closed in seattle today?

used to see this sort of thing plenty often in the metrodome

(now THAT's a stadium i sure don't miss)

I’m from Wisconsin originally but moved to Minneapolis. I can confirm this. Where Wisconsin gets more ice and sleet, Minnesota gets 5’ of snow.
