Some people have asked me for examples of what I'm looking for when reading submissions. This article might give you folks a rough idea and/or inspiration. Memoir, thoughts, discussion, feelings - if it's micrononfiction, I want to see it.

Submissions for SECOND CUBICLE ON THE LEFT, a micrononfiction mag, are open. I've updated some deets about payment to include bank deposits to Australian banks. Realised PayPal might exclude some folks.

I often say things like "if you can write a Bluesky post, you can write micrononfiction". Why not give it a go? Best case scenario - you get paid in money instead of likes. 😅

InDesign sneak peek! I'm going with a monochrome theme for SECOND CUBICLE ON THE LEFT. I like the look of it - plus, if I do start selling physical copies (I've used an A5 template), this will keep costs low. At the moment, I'm planning to be digital only.

Just quickly wanted to introduce myself. I'm Alyce Caswell (@alycecaswell.bsky.social) and I've written an enormous amount of micrononfiction. Turns out there's hardly anywhere to submit that kind of thing. So... I decided to make my own micrononfiction magazine. :D

Sooo I have started my dream writing magazine and I really need submissions that aren't mine. PAID opportunity.
Accepting microNONfiction pieces with word counts of 15, 25, 50 or 100. If you can write a Bluesky post, you can write micrononfiction. ;)

Jsyk I have decided to try again. If you can write a Bluesky post, you can write micrononfiction. I've saved enough money to pay $AU 1 per word, which makes this an expensive venture but I really want it to be a thing. Watch this space.
I tried to publish a micrononfiction magazine but no one submitted anything (and it was a paid gig!), because apparently this is the nichest hobby ever 😅 I love micrononfiction, dang it. Should I try again?

I should have added micrononfiction to the hashtags.

I've struggled with writing so much lately that it felt like a huge win to write 300+ words last week, starting and completing the first entry in my micro-memoir compilation book, codenamed CCTT. I wonder if I can pull it off again today 🤔

I love micrononfiction
There is a room with a double light switch at the entrance. One switch controls a sconce near the door. The other...nothing. No light fixture and not one of the four outlets in the room.

Nothing.

"Can you explain this gap in your employment?"

"Oh yes. You see, there was an unelected billionaire running the country at the time and he fired us before realizing what we did, and then was forced, sometimes by court order, to rehire us."

"Ha-ha. Sounds rough. More coffee?"

I heard your country was starting a trade war.

Yeah.

Really? Man, things must be getting really rough. Who is it with?

Canada and Mexico.

... ... ... oh.
