Revisiting the Making of Maskwitches blog, and the art in the ENnie Nominated Maskwitches of Forgotten Doggerland. Today's article is about tools, and the problems of making prop flints. Which I didn't do.

Installing an older edition of Photoshop.

Adobe gave me the choice of Version 25 (Chalcolithic), Version 24 (Neolithic), and Version 23 (Epipalaeolithic).

I went with Version 23, because I am particular about Adobe Microliths.

An aurochs found in a peat bog in Vig, Denmark, dating to 8600 BC. It was shot by at least nine microliths, but it ended up drowning in the bog. The circles in the far right picture show where it was shot. #FossilFriday

Let's just take a second and admire the Prejlerup Aurochs. Found in 1983 in a bog near Prejlerup in Odsherred on Sjælland, Denmark. The auroch dates to c. 6500 BC based on the 15 microliths it had been shot with before perishing in a small lake.

Great day fieldwalking at Hutton Moor Henge (more accurately a field next to it). Brilliantly organised by Thornborough Archaeology Group. Very cool to get hands on the microliths that were found. I found nothing of any note but just the chance to get involved at such a great site is a proper buzz.

Nick Ashton speaking about some interesting Mesolithic sites. At King Arthur's Cave and Madawg Shelter in the Wye Valley they found microliths, animal bones, fruit remains and perforated cowrie and periwinkle (marine) shells. But no fish - surprising given salmon river below! #Europa2025Reading

From Pierre Joris translations of Paul Celan's "Microliths they are, little stones" poethead.wordpress.com/2019/02/02/m...

Pierre's translation work on Celan was profound and meticulous. I will miss him.

I've made some tools from pieces that I've broken from this, mostly burin microliths, but I've made a couple projectile points as well. (Mommy like arrows 😉)

Some people look at this and see a rock...
I look at this, when I see absolute ton of tools.

There really is a startling lack of mega in those liths there.
I think you are looking at microliths there.
