The sidewalk in front of Archbishop Carroll High this morning.

I'm really happy to see students embracing micromobility but blocking the sidewalk is a no no. What if someone comes by in a wheelchair?

Today at @NYCCouncil, 150+ Deliveristas waited all day to be heard on 20+ micromobility bills that FAIL to address our urgent needs or the root causes of unsafe streets.

@NYCCouncil: We share the goal of safer streets, but today’s package FAILS to center workers’ needs. ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

Overall, we want to encourage micromobility and build the infrastructure to support it safely.

We also want illegal devices off our streets, and for this to be approached fairly and with clear, attainable goals.

Shared micromobility trips in Europe rose from 220M in 2020 to 570M in 2024.

McKinsey finds 87% of regular shared users also use private micromobility, while the e-bike is the preferred shared vehicle.

Micromobility could reach 6% of passenger kilometres by 2035.

We need way more non-car travel options. Bike lanes, micromobility, sidewalks, transit, and safe streets to actually provide Americans with options. End our stupid culture of car dependency!

I would assume that more micromobility strengthens micromobility. Like you know that it’s easy to do small trips without cars, and you see other (young adults you aspire to) do the same.
