Ocean Diagnostics and National Research Council Canada have teamed up to introduce a novel microplastics monitoring framework to guide policy decisions.

Fred Bionis outlined a tribal-led pilot that found presence (presence/absence) of microplastics in rain and snow, described a data-sovereignty agreement with Stanford Labau Labs ensuring tribes keep ownership and co-authorship of results, and said the project will expand sampling and human testing with informed consent.
