Just when I think I'll get my head above the water, the Big Muddy pulls me back down. Stronger, farther, deeper under. Fighting the powerful current over and over, exhausts me. Eventually, my body will shut down, as the expansive breadth of the Missouri churns my lifeless form below the deceptive surface, through all of the detritus it has also claimed. Eventually, I will S I N K to the bed of my resting place. The same place I came thisclose to purposely lying down to sleep, just a few years ago. I never get tired of the campy ass movie. But the way the Navy is portrayed- chefs fucking kiss mate! Even my former Navy sister loved this movie!

Best scene is firing up the Mighty Mo and I will die on that hill.

It's 75 years since Japan formally signed the surrender documents aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, so ending the war with the Allied powers. I visited the Mighty Mo in 2011.
