The MilkySpicy trend in China mixes innocence with sexiness, pushing young girls to fit adult beauty ideals. As the article shows, it blurs childhood and maturity, raising fears of early sexualization.

Both cases raise the question of choice vs. pressure. Are MilkySpicy kids expressing themselves, or being styled by parents and influencers ? Miss Universe contestants also face norms limiting “freedom of dress.”

In previous time, there is no ’’MilkySpicy’’(very unpopular). Parents wants to make their kids look SAFE. Social media is a key that affect some parents wants to compare their children’s dress that make children more catchy.

Overall, MilkySpicy and beauty contests illustrate how beauty pressures operate across ages : for little girls, it can mean early sexualization; for adult women, it can mean constant comparison and judgment. Both highlight how societies often link female value to appearance.

These pressures are not only visible in China. In the U.S., beauty pageants like Miss Universe also highlight how women are judged on appearance, body type, and stage performance. Like MilkySpicy, it reflects how beauty becomes competitive and shaped by cultural standards.

Some people judge that parents shouldn’t set the standard of beauty on children because they are innocent. I think that some patents do that due to the psychological defects in childhood. Some netizen said that MilkySpicy might expose children under the threat of Pedophilia.

the pressure to be beautiful is overwhelming for many women in society which is bad enough on its own, but unfortunately these pressures have been continuously reaching younger and younger girls, with the #MilkySpicy trend showing adult beauty standards pushed on girls as young as 4-5yo

To me, the #MilkySpicy trend is extremely problematic. I don’t think that there is any circumstances where it is acceptable for parents to dress their children who are still minors in ways that adults would, especially when combined with quite the suggestive poses and posting the pictures on-

However, to start this pressure on especially young girls this early is still too much. Not to forget that this #MilkySpicy trend does not just introduce these girls to the societal pressure they will face as soon as they grow up but rather that it forces it upon them immediately.

The development of MilkySpicy in China is very concerning.
The Problems that come with this trend are questionable and have to be adressed.
Not only is the sexualization of minors by their parents not morally adequate, but also the effects it can have on the children themseves.

The discussion about #MilkySpicy really shows how normalized the sexualization of minors has become. I refuse to reproduce the pictures shown in the article, but we read an article about it on What's on #Weibo, which I recommend checking out for context. +
