To clear up the misunderstanding, androgynous is an adjective for self expression, and is between "feminine" and "masculine". Nonbinary is an umbrella for identities that are not strictly male or female. They're not interchangeable in the same way "masculine" is not the same as "man"!

I think humanities classes that relied on writing as a diagnostic tool can and should pivot to other modes or hybrids.
But I don't think that means writing matters less — I think it just means we've been misunderstanding where writing instruction takes place.

jev hype is overstated but much more annoying is the coattail riders shipping SFTs of regular-ass autoregressive models with misleading names. misunderstanding the interesting parts and just delivering yet another LLM that performs worse in any way, instead of anything novel or interesting

I think what maybe is being missed here, unless I’m misunderstanding this thread, is that Trump fired the BLS head when they posted numbers he didn’t like. It throws into question the validity of the gov data. And it’s hard to defend anecdotal data but so many in my circle can’t find work.

I might be misunderstanding you, Kathy, but I'm not sure the fact that the "upper classes" are so massively overrepresented in journalism (or politics, or judiciary) makes such a result unintentional 🙂

Is there a misunderstanding here? Visit Great Yarmouth. Its contribution to GDP is determined in part by the number of businesses there creating jobs, sales. Its contribution ought to be far higher than it is, but it’s caught in a vicious cycle of under-investment. BREXIT WORSENED that, not London.

I do think that people who grew up in the era of bellicose, grandiose bragging as foreign policy can be forgiven a little bit for misunderstanding Trump as 'normal'.

But I thought that was the point of looking at like 5-years breakevens, or even 5y/5y? That's not just capturing a temporary spike, right? Shouldn't it capture some of those drawn out problems, or at least a drawn out, if modest, impact on inflation? Or maybe I'm misunderstanding you.

Sure, maybe. And that level of potential misunderstanding is why I never quote somebody who can’t respond to me. And it’s why I think sites should be designed that way.
