Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against inventive cocktails that blend different flavors well. But, as I stressed to that manager early on, we hire bartenders here, not mixologists. A bartender can serve a thirsty crowd on Saturdays. Mixologists need a captive & credulous audience.

I'm the guy whose job is doing gender specific rebranding for completely normal everyday products. My new project is the reimagining of swizzle sticks as GROG RODS for macho mixologists. They are stainless steel slabs with huge purposeless rivets and the logo is Hello Kitty's head being blown off.

it's easy to say "delete instagram" when you aren't one of the millions of artists, crafters, tattooists, piercers, performers, chefs, mixologists, baristas, brewers... etc. that has used the platform for many, many years to build a foundation and grow for their businesses.
