#Mnajdra
Got a record in the mail and had no clue what it was until I opened it. The Sahhar album I ordered in April showed up. Total banger. The main guy Marton is a good friend of mine and you may have heard Sahhar in the USA from the split with Mnajdra that @fiadh.bsky.social released last year.

At least for one building some of the megaliths were dressed and positioned with high precision: Mnajdra South related to equinox light and shadow.

📍 𝐐𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢 is a charming little village where traditional Maltese life still feels real and refreshingly slow-paced

𝐐𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢 is known for its quiet streets, beautiful countryside views, and close proximity to iconic sites like the Mnajdra and Ħaġar Qim temples, Malta 🇲🇹

🏛️✨ 𝐌𝐧𝐚𝐣𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 are one of the island’s coolest ancient spots, sitting right by the sea with views that seriously impress

These prehistoric temples date back over 5,000 years, making them older than the pyramids, and they’re perfectly aligned with the sun during solstices and equinoxes.

The Sahhar/Mnajdra split comes to cassette from the queen @fiadh.bsky.social
MDLXV - Fidi, Vendetta, a split between Mnajdra and Saħħar, is a musical interpretation & retelling of the Great Siege of Malta. US-based blackened doom project Mnajdra explores the POV of the Turking invaders while Maltese black metal artist Saħħar portrays the Knights of Malta.

Both acts come together on Iermu’s Last Cry, emphasizing the collaborative spirit of this release in an effort to bring to light lesser-known but equally important European regional history.

I have been twice and yes, what we love is that many eras of history sit side by side. On the latest trip (a couple of weeks ago) we visited these amazing places.

#today the equinox/equilix is nearly here! Some think the engineering of Stonehenge, Hagar Qim and Mnajdra are fancy, but roll over, because I get blinded by direct sun while sitting up in bed only at about this time of year and for the autumn equinox/equilix too!

I will be in at uni today then […]

19-20 March → spring equinox sunrise at Ħaġar Qim & Mnajdra temples.
5,000-year-old stones light up perfectly at dawn. Special early openings, dead quiet, feels special.

Few snaps from Ħaġar Qim & Mnajdra, Blue Grotto and Dingli cliffs. Highest point in Malta.

the first time I visited Hagar Qim/Mnajdra (really ancient temples on sw coast of the island) I was really confused by their location and how the temple fire faced out towards the sea until I realized it was for ships coming from Tunisia and how easily they could have been blown off course
