I started using Claude Code on Friday, and have a couple insights after a day of using it. The initialization process over a code repository is very cool, and it's ability to conform to your codebases style is awesome. It also seems like it will pick up on library usage like avoiding spys in mockk

I want to dedicate this post to Oleksiy Pylypenko (@oleksiyp), the hero behind the Mockk library. Believe me, it was a titanic work to make it work so well, supporting static elements mocking, coroutines, and providing such a convenient API.

ByteBuddy is JVM-specific, so Mockk and Mockito do not work outside JVM, but there are new libraries like Mokkery or Mockative, that use compiler plugins or KSP for mock instances generation.

Just spent like an hour trying to fix a mockk problem only to realize that the error I ran into had literal instructions on what to do and had I don’t it first I would have saved an hour.
