Refurbishment of my Modellbahnkeller is complete and I can now start to re-install my layout. First task yesterday was rewiring my baseboards.

Thanks to the miserable weather I was able to spend the morning in the modellbahnkeller, accompanied by the #TheArchers omnibus. Very pleased with the transformation so far. Needs a proper coat of paint, doors, and some guttering, but it is getting there.

I read somewhere that #soberoctober does not apply on Friday nights. Besides I went to the gym this afternoon.

High winds and rain today, this is excellent news! I have been to the gym so I can now spend several hours in the modellbahnkeller with a clear conscience.

Despite my best intentions I did nothing on the layout today. However, we are forecast to have 40cm of snow overnight so I am not going anywhere tomorrow except the modellbahnkeller.

My layout is currently dismantled, all rolling stock packed away as the Modellbahnkeller is undergoing drastic refurbishment. So it was very unfair that a discontinued and quite rare Lenz O gauge wagon appeared on eBay this weekend. Very proud I resisted the temptation to buy it for almost 36 hours.

I am tidying up my ‘stock’ in the modellbahnkeller and decided to throw out 90% of my collection of wires and cables. Imagine my delight in finding a jack to phono lead that allows me to connect the Echo Dot to my active speakers! I think I bought it to play my MP3 player through the hi-fi

It has been a day of chaotic carpentry in the #modellbahnkeller but very enjoyable. This additional track is going to make the layout much more ‘sensible’

I had plans to for extensive work on the layout today, but the weather put paid to that! Cannot justify spending the day in the #modellbahnkeller when it is warm and sunny. So it was a dog walk along the canal instead.
