#MommyBloggers
Yeah that’s always been part of the equation more or less. It’s either self-help stuff in the 80s that’s just literally repackaged patriarchy or it’s influencer shit that’s more of the same. And this is true for lefty mommybloggers too, everyone is just fully cooking their brains on the socials

After a write-up in the New York Times, Mommy Bloggers had two options. Either lean in, or step back.

This is going to appeal to a super niche group of very wealthy mommybloggers and interior designers. I bet its a separate collection with a premium upcharge

yeah I think this underestimates a big part of the actual phenomenon - crunchy moms/mommybloggers who dabble in antivax shit and are already married to MAGA men

This is like Order 66 for mommybloggers.

i feel like giving this a thousand hashtags based on the content would be really funny, but i’m sick and no brain worky

Uhm. We could. Hear you lottie talking and it was cute.

So.

I guess the thought was you should blog about your daughters more. Like mommybloggers do.

Plus the number of "influencers" who wind up doing horrific things (all those "mommybloggers" abusing their kids) just makes it seem like a bad, bad deal.

the confusing part to me is that i’m used to that term being used by some of the most insufferable mommybloggers and “parenting influencers”/“””content creators””” out there. ms. rachel, of course, is none of the above

This is what mommybloggers used to do. “I have an exciting announcement!” I assume instagram and Tiktok influencers still do it.
September 2, 2025 at 6:12 AM
utahns, same

limiting fireworks when the foothills of slc are already aflame is enough to incite mommybloggers & freelance accountants to dust off their roof-mounted magnifying glasses, flame throwers, & molotov cocktails

The "wellness"-industrial complex, and the shouting-down of actual science by Hapsburg-chinned eugenicists and bored right-wing mommybloggers with no other meaning or purpose in their life, it's a goddamn cancer on society

These influencer mommybloggers making homemade goldfish because OMG SODIUMS and hiding vegetables by mashing up frozen peas and saying they’re ice cream really put a weed up my ass. Just teach kids about eating in moderation and let them have a little treat.

Just had it drilled into me exactly how old I am by listening to Behind the Bastards, and none of them seem to know what “wet nursing” means. You think this would be something that the mommybloggers crew would be all over, hiring a wet nurse instead of their nanny bottlefeeding.

yeah, a lot of the early wave mommybloggers were mormon

I still use the NYTimes to get recipes that I might want to try.

But every so often the NYTimes does shit that makes me wonder if I can't just get the same recipe from some idiot mommybloggers who insist on 4k words of "OMG YOU GUYS THIS IS THE BEST [insert thing here]" before the damn recipe

There were, of course, the people who were already Trump fans and white supremacists, but a lot of the on-ramps were less intuitive--wellness culture, biohacking, mommybloggers, evangelical Christianity, even some tech industry/rationalist types. Not all of those are obvious fellow travelers.

The FCC demands that it be disclosed because there was too much abuse with non-reviewer types (mainly mommybloggers) receiving free stuff and being swayed by that. Probably involved more expensive things than just a single videogame though.

I have found mommybloggers and their evolution of “family influencers” to be the worst of the worst and never deserving of the clicks and attention they get.
I’m sorry you did what now?
April 19, 2026 at 12:32 AM
Not disagreeing. But to hear mommybloggers like ScienceBabe and CrunchyAntivax claim it's poisonous, its really stupid. it's the trade off for convenience of having readily available shredded cheese that doesn't cake up.
July 9, 2025 at 4:12 PM
Coincidentally, we were also the first round of mommybloggers, and the best thing to come out of that was a broader sense of community...right up until momming online became monetized "influencing."

Then we created platforms and apps that eat up time/attention we could've used to raise our kids.

I'd argue that the only profit model open to the OG community-building mommybloggers was the beginning of the end...

But yeah, this one, too.
