One of the last pictures of WG Grace, taken at his home at Mottingham in Kent in the summer of 1915. He died on October 23rd that year aged 67. At the time Mottingham was a quiet village but it has since been enveloped by London's urban sprawl

I realise I have not posted #proofofcat - here is Sweep, a Scottish Wildcat at Capel Manor College's Mottingham campus - I do not have a cat at home, but I am a governor of Capel Manor so I think Sweep counts...

On this day (August 8th) in 1914 WG Grace played his last game of cricket, for Eltham against Northbrook at Mottingham, where he lived. Grace, 66, did not bat or bowl. In his final innings, a fortnight earlier, he scored 69*. He died 14 months later

PSA… The @debugawards.com are happening in Nottingham, and not the similarly named Mottingham

Hands up who actually knew that’s a real place 🖐️
This could have been disastrous

This year I campaigned for the Greens in Blackheath Westcombe and Shooters Hill wards. Both have had above average turnout for a local election…

Fingers crossed.

I'm not a Londoner, but I have lived here for most of the last 25 years. I'm no longer surprised by anything. #streetphotography #mottingham #abandonedtoilet

Saw this yesterday at Greenwich Picturehouse - really enjoyed it. The same was not the case for the nearby restaurant which is using robots to help with service … cold food and one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time.

South London Press was notionally my local paper as a Lewisham resident. It's getting a bit news desert-y round here, apart from greenwichwire.co.uk. Judging by my neighbours on Next Door, no one has much of a clue what's happening round here.

There’s a stop on the line called ‘Mottingham’ and a disgusting lad I used to know called cunnilingus ‘motting’ I’m trying not to throw up.
