A photo of a tall cone shaped mountain, it's top and upper flanks draped in snow that disappears into the high tree line lower on the slopes. The lower slopes where the forests dominate appear blue due to the distance. The sky above is a featureless pale blue of high hazy clouds. Lower down, and in front of the high mountain is a long gently sloped mountain that runs across the whole photo side to side. It too appears more blue than green from it's forest cover due to distance. Down further below the long mountain is a layer of pale white haze hanging over the landscape with some small hills faintly visible through it. In the far foreground toward the bottom of the image are sets of low rolling hills covered in trees that are a dark green of conifers. The farther of the two has a large white done built on it that is a municipal water tank for the small city below. The nearest of the two hills has visible individual trees that give way lower on the hillside to open green grassy slopes that continue toward the bottom of the photo, criss crossed by more isolated groups of trees and a few structures. A hazy column of smoke rises from behind one group of trees, from a rural burn of wood and brush debris commonly seen in Spring and Fall before the dry season and wet Winter.

A field of white scree catches evening sunlight in the foreground. The sky is split by a band of white cloud not that much higher than the camera position in altitude, casting the landscape beneath it in shadow while the sky above is clear blue. This was taken high up on the hill looking east(ish), but not I think at the summit. It looks sunny and bright - but was quite chill with the wind (and ended up being quite a wild camping experience).

A west of Ireland #painting, "Connemara Waters" came out of an idyllic day cycling in south Connemara when I stopped for a while to look across the bogs to the mountains of north Connemara. And to watch a family of swans because how can you not? #SpéirGhorm #ArtYear #MountainMonday
Landscape format in acrylics on canvas. The bottom two-thirds of the scene below the horizon is a bog of grasses and vegetation of greens, oranges, yellows and blues. The bog is laced with horizontal strips of very pale lilac water, some with grey and dark rocks protruding from them. Along the horizon is a low distant ridge of a green hill punctuated with dots of pale houses and dark green trees, that starts to rise up towards the right edge. Behind it is a long low purple hill on the left half, and further behind across the whole painting are 4 large pyramidal mountains of different blues, stacked behind each other getting paler as they recede in the distance. The sky is a very pale smoky teal. The water pool along the full width of the bottom edge is an even paler lilac, almost white, but with lots of short little horizontal rippling strokes of pale aqua blue and purple.
