And my feeling is that like if a food -any food- has to be perfect to be good thing then it's not inherently good.

Remove any single ingredient from a mufaletta and the sandwich ceases to be transcendant but it's still a good sandwich.

Perhaps my most controversial food take is that the mufaletta is superior to the po boy and if you remove the lore from the po boy it's just not a good sandwich.

My favorite thing I've done was cold Asian noodle salads, because I got my nephews to cut the veg and I just had to make the sauce and cook the noodles ahead of time. (And cold food is great at the beach)
A few mufaletta style pressed sandwiches are good, too.
