#Multicore
I love that it’s not 2004 anymore

using multicore processors is too FUN.

I think weed makes their brain go from a multicore processor to a singlecore processor.

have you seen github.com/ocaml-multicore/saturn?

it's a package that provides lock-free data structures for OCaml (and they are multicore-safe)

do you have a project where this could be useful? I would love to chat

This all seems appropriate for us / our show / our running jokes

Real multicore OCaml has never been tried

Multicore series 10 - Cruelty Squad

my intro to imsims. really simple, fun, and flexible gameplay loop. the themes, character dialogue, overall presentation, and sound design all come together to make an unforgettable experience that i cant reccomend enough

I had a lot of fun giving this talk in Singapore about the many-years-long saga of multicore OCaml, and in particular, the work over the least 2.5 years of getting it ready for production work within Jane Street's walls.

Multicore series 8 - DELTARUNE

i loved seeing all the art of kris dressing in gnc ways/wearing a dress under their armor, or them coming out to toriel and being hugged in the next panel. it all made me feel so warm on the inside, that i came to realize im nonbinary

Andrea Palmate's new Open Source Multicore SMP kernel based on AROS for AmigaOS4 is a truly revolutionary masterpiece! Not only do you get full SMP Multicore, better threads and memory protection, and the Musashi 68k JIT Multicore SMP emulator, but the 4GB limitation is now totally erased! Awesome!

5.0 wasn't "real" multicore?

Multicore series 20 - Titanfall 2

THE BEST deathmatch fps. nothing comes close to it. the definition of simple yet deep, from pilot movement to titan matchups - everything about it feels so satisfying to just do, theres really nothing like it

Os programming with multicore support in mind is literally schizo simulator

A multicore CPU is good at concurrency. GPGPU is really optimized for parallelism.

Multicore CPUs can do many different things at the same time. GPGPUs can do exactly the same thing many times at the same time.

i didnt even look at the new iphone benchmarks until now. What the fuck do you mean single core performance score is MORE THAN DOUBLE my PC. What the fuck do you mean the multicore performance is identical when i have 16 cores. Stop feeding the apple engineers so much cocaine. This is so fucked

Multicore series 18 - Dead Cells

man i remember fighting the time keeper for the first time, coming from pretty exclusively platforming games the time keeper was such a breath of fresh air that legit had me grabbing my head afterwards. my baby brain was BLOWN

Any frank assessment of your achievements starts with an equally frank assessment of the world-historic forces that attended those achievements. For example, I often tell people who want to get into tech, "If you lack the foresight and work ethic to be born in 1971, I can't really help you."

Go get it right now!

they act like its the same as the spreadsheet, the database, the modem, the web, gigs of ram and gigahertz multicore CPUs, or the iphone, but all of those things have clear value. they're easy to explain. their externalities pale in comparison to their utility.

This happens time and time again in computer science.

Remote NUMA also “sucked”.

GPU scientific computation “sucked” before CUDA.

Multicore CPUs “sucked” before everyone figured out how to write multithreaded code.

Multicore series 12 - Katana ZERO

super stylish and fluid action platformer. i still think about tape 6, its a perfect intro. 15 breaking INTO prison thru a brick wall, with only a button prompt above him, droning noise as bgm, and a situation zero COULD NOT win is so hype
