Kara-Murza is right, and knows firsthand the criminality of Putin’s gangster state. Gangster governments endanger everyone, not just their robbed and lied-to citizens.

It was chilling to hear this directly from Kara-Murza. For me, the most valuable talk amongst many at this conference.
Yesterday Vladimir Kara-Murza spoke at #libcon2025 about Putin's tactics, and he told a story of how Putin brags about his "recruitment" skills and gave three examples (involving 3 US Presidents) about how good he is at telling them exactly what they want to hear... and how they always fall for it
Surely no reason Putin (the election respecter) would say this just to get his way

2025 or 1938? Vladimir Kara-Murza warns Trump repeating pre-WWII mistakes by appeasing Putin
Viewers of Trump’s summit with Putin in Alaska this week would be reasonable to wonder whether they had traveled back to 1938, says Russian opposition politician Vladimir Kara-Murza. "If there is one clear lesson from history, it is that you cannot achieve peace by appeasing an aggressor," Kara-Murza says. Trump "has relinquished the title of the leader of the free world” and that “this collective leadership is now being passed to Europe."

From a principled source - by Russia's former political prisoner (and twice poisoned opposition activist), Vladimir Kara-Murza:
“Rewarding an aggressor has never led to peace, and it never will. The only language bullies understand is one of strength and principle, whether they happen to be in Caracas or in Moscow.”
