Here are two wonderful paintings about letters created by Gabriel Metsu (1629-1667), the Dutch master. There were both painted c1665. They are considered his greatest works. I’ve used software to digitally ‘restore’ these works to how they might have looked in the studio. I love colour!

Delighted that this book is now out in the world, a collection of essays that brings new perspectives on the display of animals. My contribution focuses on a piece of 19th century beetle art.
