Every Ross Douthat question interviewing Abdul El-Sayed:

"As a Muslim who Islams Islamically, would you say that your faith in the Muslim God Allah, who many Arabs like you also worship because they are Muslim, like you, is at odds, in jihad perhaps, with America, where you live as a Muslim?"

He had chance after chance to not be Muslim. He did not.
The co-founder of Republican Astroturfers for Apartheid ("Democratic Majority for Israel") tries to spin Haley Stevens's public embrace of Nazism on behalf of Israel:

All this because a Progressive Democrat akin to Chris Van Hollen happens to be Muslim. Absolutely bonkers.

Abdulrahman Muhammad El Sayed, first elected Muslim US Senator on Tuesday!

See you then!

Painfully ironic that despite being told by Republicans and centrists for over a decade that Muslims wouldn't support people like me, the most prominent politicians standing up for trans people in America are all Muslim.
Yesterday, in a hostile 60 Minutes interview with a Bari Weiss acolyte who once called trans kids a “social contagion,” El-Sayed refused to budge on trans rights.

“A failure to show up and fight for that right is a failure to show up and fight for your own.”

I would say if you lived through 9/11 this is familiar, but thats wrong. The anti-Muslim rhetoric now is far broader and more explicit.

The Haley Stevens: two parts anti-Muslim racism, one part cynical invocation of Black voters, one part instrumentalization of Jewish voters. The most disgusting cocktail ever served.

My young cousin asked me a couple of weeks ago why any Muslim would run for office in the U.S. She said she never would.

My answer: "Because fuck them," LOLOLOL.

I believe the children are our future... teach them well and let them lead the way.

Anyway if you are a young Muslim, run if you want.

There are so many people in the Democratic party that would rather vote for a Republican than a Muslim and it's sickening. She didn't even say Abdul's name, just blaming Hasan Piker who is not even an elected or party official. It's just anti Muslim bigotry the whole way through.
November 1, 2026 at 7:13 PM
Just open, shameless, anti Muslim bigotry by @theatlantic.com writers before the election. No accountability or even a slap on the wrist.

And I've written articles for that publication!

Wild times.

Haley Stevens has near single-handedly ensured that the entire Democratic Party more or less totally and unconditionally coalesced around an Arab Muslim anti-Zionist for the United States Senate. Thank you Haley!
