#Mythologies
But maybe there are positive connotations to too many people because of how many countries have national mythologies about their own settlers. I think "settler terrorists" is fine in that case. People should still look at Palestine & think about how Indigenous people in their own country are treated

My med school friends get confused and upset when I tell them to get into esoteric stuff and magic and mysticism you first need to read philosophy and the mythologies of many cultures

Exactly. The arrogance of empires and their grandiose mythologies.

Honestly, I think the whole thing was meaningless. I think Menosky was too busy coming up with symbols and such to actually come up with any REASON for it.

Lots of mythologies have metaphorical explanations for things like why the sun flies through the sky, like Egyptians explaining it with Ra's

For Worldbuilding Wednesday I present to you. The Sidthians, or the Faeians. Based on Fae cultures of the Celtic and Irish mythologies, my version is based on the two loosely being connected.

Sidthians are a mix of humans, fae, and beastfolk. They are a nation gripped by the ravages of the past./1

"Titled A Place to Be Held, Liebana’s show revolves around a fantastical, Eden-like garden exploding with an extravaganza of rainbows, flowers, clouds, cosmic phenomena, and more."

I have to add that the writers obviously know about different mythologies, as the show is peppered with subtle allusions to the Norse pantheon.

There are also moments where the goddesses Igrid, Stacey and Michelle echo the triple goddess of maiden, mother and crone.

That somehow implies the existence of a Dark Magic Century and maybe other Elemental-type Magic Centuries.

See MK Mythologies Sub Zero, also called "Ice Magic Century" in PAL territories. I'm sure there were others.

Karen talks about some of her artistic influences such mythology and oral traditions. Stories shared around camp fires from tribal cultures around the world were passed down as wisdom through multiple generations. Currently society is devoid of those valuable traditions. youtu.be/k7LemUvGgWo?...

“Institutions are often founded on ideals and mythologies that are eventually challenged or repudiated. But like courts and monarchs, institutions can persist through the functions they perform, the interests they serve, and the difficulty of dislodging them once they are entrenched.”
Wrote a new Substack about what happens when institutions lose their originating mythology and end up surviving on their function in society. This is a theme brought up in my rewatch of "The Crown." But it is making me think about American juristocracy and displays of institutional morality.

Stated just as the old mythologies claimed. Christianity gives you three domains (heaven, earth, hell) but doesn't tell you what you need to enter above or below.

We take our cue from the lady. She dances and has first choice of souls taking those with pure hearts. (Jesus took pure hearts.)

However as someone who took a deep dive into various mythologies in college and is still a big curiosity in me (this is why I love SMT), I fucking loved it.
Even if none of that means anything to you, it has heart. From the message to the style that it has. Just go watch it

Fate/Zero (Heroic Spirits)--

The repetition of tragic histories summoned by the Holy Grail.--

The Throne of Heroes; an archetypal plenum where human ideals are ossified into eternal, suffering mythologies.--

"If we are to reinvest the world with meaning, I suggest we use the fragments of our old shattered mythologies to build ourselves a new one."

It's cool you're doing your own take on it though, no? I appreciated your story because it made me learn more about the 'cave grandmother(s)' archetype in mythologies and religious beliefs and folklore from different parts of the world.

We see this in form too: Mecha are often mythologies, be those of the techno-optimism following WW2 with nuclear and the space-race, to Talos of greek mythology or all manner of the Golem precursors of Mesopoitamia 2100BC, the Ushabti, the mechanical armiesof King Ajatashatru, etc

Campbell's Myths to Live By notes that dissolving horizons breed collisions of mythologies. Today's collision is between AI as existential threat and AI as enterprise product. The same companies narrate both. 5/6

The fact that we wasted time on Mueller when Smith was out there is an absolute fumble of historic proportions.

I am not a believer in any “great person” mythologies, BUT I do know individuals & the teams they build & empower make a difference.

And I know this guy got handed the ball way too late.
Jack Smith: "Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in serious crimes against our nation ... rather than accept his defeat in the 2020 election, he engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results and prevent the lawful transfer of power"
