On the games side specifically, GameSoundCon and NACVGM are still both going strong!

Broadening out into musicology writ large: AMS will be online only this fall (unrelated: they are Having A Year)

Decided to indulge in @lauraintravia.bsky.social's incredible cadence at 1:30 here before a meeting starts -- if you missed this performance from NACVGM 2026, take the six minutes and allow yourself to be astounded.

Oops I never shared my world premiere performance from a few months ago! "The GLaDOS Monologues: Ariosos for voice, piano, and violin" composed by @greggrossetti.bsky.social premiered at the North American Conference on Video Game Music in May. Hoping for expanded version at some point!

@maureenjohnsonbooks.com Thought you might enjoy this concert performance from a few of the folks I had do a thing for you recently!

Matthew (collaborative piano, Univ. of Michigan), @lauraintravia.bsky.social, and @musicologess.bsky.social are all breathtaking.

Just registered for NACVGM 13! Excited to be performing, as well as hearing a piece I was commissioned to write for soprano and piano trio, based on text from Portal 2.

Just finished Link's Awakening as part of a massive Archipelago team game (LttP, Seasons, and Ages still on my plate for the rest of the week).

Every time I go into the Face Shrine now I think of @floreustebius.bsky.social hahaha. Really looking forward to his talk at NACVGM at the end of the term.

Seeing Laura perform even a single time is a life-altering, soul-shifting experience. I got my radio job in part because of her concert for Michigan State hosting the NACVGM conference.

Those of us who get to share in the laughter and joy she brings to the VGM community are lucky beyond belief.
The @officialgdc.bsky.social concert this year was fire!! Here's a short clip from one of my favorite moments: performing "Alicia" from Clair Obscur: E33. This song has been stuck in my head since the game came out--so magical to perform it live with my talented colleagues in the orchestra!

I always go to Audiosurf here so I can choose the soundtrack:

I've always thought this, but I just wanted to say... @musicologess.bsky.social is really the Bluesky Laureate of #NACVGM.

Anyway, enjoying SMT/AMS 2025!

Exactly. I haven’t been to MaMI since I was a grad student, because by the end of the year I’m tapped out (both finances and energy). And I can usually only go to NACVGM (also increasingly competitive) if I get in.

While looking for stuff, I stumbled upon a fascinating presentation about Hitoshi Sakimoto's Terpsichorean sound driver, responsible for creating standout tracks like Waltz of Meditation Part 2.

Definitely check it out

I had such an amazing time seeing all the folx at NACVGM for the first time since 2019! Next up, it'll be my first time going to PAX East next weekend - see you all Sunday!

Wishing so badly I was at NACVGM, or at least tuning in. Had a crazy day with the kids today so I didn’t even register to go virtually, but I’ll really be missing it tomorrow! I guess I *should* hit that grading pile though…

Loving the academic talk on sound in Balatro by UC's Nolan Miranda at NACVGM 2025.

Paging @thehashtagonist.bsky.social haha.

I don't mean to jinx it, but I'm sooooooo excited to travel to #nacvgm tomorrow to see all of my video game music academics IN PERSON for the first time since 2019!!! I've been so grateful for the hybrid conference in recent years, and I'm so happy to make it happen in person this year ❤️

Just a heads up: we will remove the registration link for NACVGM from the website Friday 4/25 at 5:00pm Eastern to send out the link, so if you're planning to register for virtual attendance please do so before then (and spread the word to anybody who might be interested)!
