How many teachers from NY and CA were honestly thinking about taking a job in Oklahoma in the first place?

Seems very performative.

As a NASDTEC participant, I guess this is within their authority but seems like it could generate a similar response as the Texas redistricting.

Oklahoma will test some incoming teachers with ‘America-first’ exam
Oklahoma will require teachers from California and New York to pass a test on civics and “gender ideology” before they can teach in the state.

It turns out there is a system already in existence.

It's called the NASDTEC it provides a nationwide alert system for professional misconduct that affects an educator's license.

All 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several U.S. territories and Canadian provinces are members of NASDTEC.

A national clearing house exists called the NASDTEC it provides a nationwide alert system for professional misconduct that affects an educator's license.

All 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several U.S. territories and Canadian provinces are members of NASDTEC.

Is it effectively used?
A thread about my thoughts on a national tracking database for teachers in the wake of the Clinton and Cristen Brink murders by former teacher James Andrew McGann who was set to teach in Springdale, Arkansas this fall.
If there isn’t a central database tracking the employment history of teachers—including reasons for termination—then individuals like James Andrew McGann can slip through the cracks.

I’ll be speaking at #NASDTEC this summer on how AI is already reshaping staff conduct, grading, and policy.

This isn’t the future. It’s now.
