It was a glorious day for our joint NDOC/BOC trip to Fishlake Meadows & Testwood Lakes. We noted 65 bird species, including a very showy Cetti's Warbler, Sedge and Willow Warblers and Little Ringed Plover, plus 5 butterfly species.

I noted 52 species and added Shag and Wheatear to my year list (127, of which 71 in my home village). The Stonechats, Dartford Warblers and Greenfinches were delightful.

Thanks to BOC President, Dr Debby Reynolds who led the joint NDOC/BOC walk at Otmoor yesterday. 10 intrepid birders braved the inclement weather and found at least 40 species, incl. Great White Egret, Golden Plover, and Water Rail.
