Seaweed and other stuff from the beach - if anyone knows which species of Laver (Porphyra) it is, I’d like to know as I can’t tell the difference! Will be either Winter or Purple, I think. It was on rocks just below high tide line. Added some photos if that helps. Hartlepool, NEEngland.

I’m edging towards thinking this a queen red-tailed cuckoo (Bombus rupestris) rather than a red-tailed bumblebee, ( B. lapidarius) but would appreciate any confirmation of which she is. Thank you! (NEEngland).

Looking at today's weather forecast for NE England, it will hardly be noticeable, BUT as from today the sun will be setting later, a whole minute later in fact than yesterday. In my mind, that's a step in the right direction!
