out of all the first bosses in TN ninja gaiden, I think NG2 has my personal favorite one due to how izuna dropping those additional enemies onto him chunks a bunch of his health but tbf NGS2B is the only version where this matters much (og NG2 doesn't have izuna unlocked yet and NGS2 has less adds)

Tried running NG2 Black again on the BC-259 and man, this shit barely runs. Thankfully, the newest versions of Xenia Edge no longer have the weird crashes in NG2 on Linux, so I can run that at 1080p without a hitch.

I don't think navigational handholding has ever made any action-adventure game genuinely harder, like NG2/3RE has a simliar GPS pathing system that insomniac wolverine has yet I've not seen a single soul complain about it because the difficulty of these games comes from literally everything else

Just tested out that NG2 recomp and yeah it's baaaad. Not completely unplayable (I was able to finish the first level just fine) but there's all sorts of frame-drops at the most random spots, audio desync issues in the cutscenes, and I swear there's more input drops.

Bloody Palace would’ve been a great fit for NG2. It’s got so much enemy variety and it already has the Trial of Valor arena for it. Maybe with the ability to unlock/level up weapons and buy consumables at intervals like in NGB’s Eternal Legend mode.

NG2 is a weird case where it accomplishes everything it sets out to do very well and I like all of those things but the game is just way too fast and exhausting for me to really enjoy it. Normal being too easy and hard being too hard also really kills the replayability for me
