Decided to do M27 tonight. NGC6853, sounds like the Starship Enterprise. It's called the Dumbbell Nebula, Messier Object 27 (I can only find Messier, not Messiest). It's in the Vulpecula constellation and is pretty high in the sky tonight.
Good morning. This is Vega. I took it last night but it's 25 years ago cos light is slow. It's in the Lyra constellation.

Dumbbell Nebula from my terrace last year.
It still astonishes me every time that you can explore these objects with comparatively little effort, even from a brightly lit city. This was a roughly four-hour exposure with a SkyWatcher 200/1000 Newtonian and a Canon 5D MkIII.
