I think the magnitude of the fee is very important here. I think a lot about how much money my wife and I had to spend for her to become a doctor. Not just med school debt, but tens of thousands of dollars to interview for residencies, enter the NRMP, sit for boards. Definitely keeps people out.

Because Oregonians aren’t Nazis? lol I just had an #intern who spent all of his life in #Oregon before just moving here for residency, really sweet guy. Looks like from NRMP #Oregon med students tend to get retained in state, go to Cali, Washington, New England or Minnesota. Only 2 to ID

Idaho doesn't have any OBGYN training slots. They have 54 #FamilyMedicine slots, 26 #InternalMedicine slots, 8 #Psychiatry slots, and 4 #Pediatrics slots, per NRMP. That's it. And well, I guess at least a few #white nationalist doctors exist and that's where they want to be so 🤷♀️
