Where's the accountability for the NYT's transphobia?
FYI, folks from Bluesky. Reporters at The NYT, among other news organizations, are now generating a giant wave of accountability stories about the new Trump era. Reading these stories, sharing them, is a form of accountability as well. It is a form of participatory democracy too. Substance matters.

Lutnick casts doubt upon the NYT's reporting about the Musk-Rubio blowup, then in the next breath confirms key details of the NYT's reporting

Lots of fun surprises in NYT's 100 best restaurants lol

I note NYT’s headline is about “chaos,”
not “murder.”

NYT's house style is genuinely deranged
One court decision, two different headlines.

Guardian on the left, NY Times on the right. Which one more directly conveys information and the stakes to the reader?

NYT's eugenicist source screaming crying throwing up bc he found out he got one drop 😭 lmao

thus do we understand half the reason for the NYT’s seething anti-Mamdani grudge
New York City’s business elites are long accustomed to direct access to City Hall, where even Democratic mayors felt the need to court the city’s wealthiest and most influential corporate leaders. That access is getting shredded by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani Is Shunning New York Business Leaders Who Are Used to Calling the Shots
The mayor fired corporate leaders from a city fund’s advisory board in the latest sign that he is changing the way such power brokers access City Hall.

This thread makes the NYT's laundering of white supremacy all the worse.
The saga of the NYT's anti-Mamdani story taken from notorious white supremacist Jordan Lasker (they call him an "academic") gets even more amazing: Lasker's only impactful paper, which claimed white people are smarter, is infamous: it misused data so badly it got his tenured co-author fired. 2/

There is no batshit far-right idea that the NYT's "reasonable" conservatives will not launder into polite discourse.

Rahm is the NYT’s Platonic, lab-developed, ideal Democrat.

This was my take for the NYT's profile on Bari Weiss and The Free Press.

Douthat is laundering hard core white Christian supremacy into the mainstream, with the NYT's blessing.
Ross Douthat treats this guy like they're having some deep conversation about the relationship of Christianity and the government, but the dude is a garden-variety dull, shallow, hateful, worthless bigot with nothing interesting to say, just endless riffs on "God hates everything/everyone I do."

They were nonviolent; ergo, by NYT’s standards, inconsequential.

In NYT's defense that's also how they view Black employees
Being a Black person and being a woman makes a person DEI, apparently. Not a DEI hire, but DEI itself. Per the NYT.
By accepting Trump’s anti-Black premise and regurgitating the narrative that equates anything Black as DEI, the NY Times has become part of the propaganda machine

Time for some frantic Eurosport posting from the NYT’s chief presidential age correspondent
Trump can't remember Usha Vance's name

I have looked through the NYT's financial statements and people should know that the NYT's profits have gone up significantly since 2022, not because of news-only subscription revenue, but because of revenue driven by puzzle and recipe subscriptions, alone or bundled with news.
This may be true of others but I actually got express permission from the trans community to keep NYT games and recipes. I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.

NYT's commitment to this bit is approaching legendary.

The NYT's is going into replies now to nitpick criticism against them by trans journalists.
The Times's coverage of Feb. 3 and 4 accurately reported the public statements of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Medical Association. Our reporting also accurately contextualized the shift from both of these organizations regarding gender-related surgical procedures.

I think the NYT's headline writers have just reached the pinnacle of their idiot craft:
