I hate headlines like "Budget 2025: Winners and Losers" because it makes it sound balanced when it fact it's:

Winners: Small group of rich pricks
Losers: Rest of New Zealand, but especially women and the poors

This government is undermining climate policy by slashing funding to independent Climate Commission
every year (in real terms - much bigger in nominal terms)
2022: 16 million
2023: 19 million
*Election*
2024: 17 million
2025: 15 million

It's the lack of transparency and the governments inability to allow constructive criticism that is the problem. Only tame hacks allowed.
