Just made the jump over here from the other place. It just seems to wholesome and nice. I think it will reach critical mass for the crowd formerly known as #nztwitter but may not be quite so useful for following things like #science.

I'm still technically on Twitter, but starting yesterday they only show you replies to other peoples' tweets if they're from paid users. It's completely killed organic interactions and reach. Unless they reverse course, the site is basically unusable now.

Hey #kikorangi team … Bluesky has been a lovely home for us NZ folks post #NZTwitter from back in the early days of this platform, so let’s give them a bit of latitude as they deal with the new wave of refugees from Xitter.
There will almost certainly be some outages and performance issues. We've never seen traffic like this. Hang with us!

For the new ex NzTwitter folks, if you like pets, there is an Aotearoa Pets feed. (Tagging your posts with 🐱🇳🇿 or 🐶🇳🇿 will mean they show up there).
And tagging your posts with NZPol if they’re political, will keep them out of the Kikorangi feed and bring them up in the NZ Politics feed.

I'm thinking about all those people from #NZTwitter who - at Jackie's call - donated money, items, time, & their expertise to these women, who maybe thought what they were doing was just a drop in the ocean. It really takes a village.
