Charlie ordered “nankotsu” AKA “the bits” , and he has to finish it himself because it tastes really good but the texture makes me think of biting into my own fingers

Tasted a bit bitter because it was burnt, but also kind of like nankotsu. Went well with my lemon sour.

wait ponshukan is goated, i went the first time i went to niigata and loved it so much i resolved to bring my wife there as well. the self-serve sake dispensers are so fun. and i bought some nankotsu to have as otsumami as well there...ah i love niigata

Chicken nuggets and hot dogs are a more sustainable choice for any meat eater to include in their diet than people who are picky and exclude them. Same as pâté, sausage, liver, or nankotsu. If you eat meat, eat offal, or stop eating it altogether.

A take I have always held and never posted:

My palate is the number one reason I need to live in an urban area. My cravings can hop from sanguinaccio to haemul pajeon to ceviche mixto to cow foot stew to steak tartare to nankotsu yakitori to fried green tomatoes in a single day, and if I can't satisfy at least one, I'll be miserable.

My palate is the number one reason I need to live in an urban area. My cravings can hop from sanguinaccio to haemul pajeon to ceviche mixto to cow foot stew to steak tartare to nankotsu yakitori to fried green tomatoes in a single day, and if I can't satisfy at least one, I'll be miserable.
It’s not the cheapest meal especially the way I go hog wild here. It’s why I only come out here once in a while. That said, Sumiya still strikes me as very reasonably priced for what I get.
I just need to be less crazy. Good luck with that though. I like good yakitori too much. 😂

Never expected to like nankotsu and it became one of my favourite foods when I lived in Japan. I was too squeamish to try all the organ meats though

wont know unless i have a tomato sauce to work with. and cheese of some variety. it'll probably be a little too fatty though, since nankotsu is full of oil as is

chicken nankotsu is good stir fried with garlic, and it goes with tare as well… then i wonder how it'll do as a chicken parm type dish

as mentioned in the thread, the spag was excessive. this chicken nankotsu is best on its own served with shiso leaf. maybe a side of ketchup. beer for sure
