A Metro engineering representative updated the Nashville Public Library board on damage from a June 10, 2025 garage fire and described an interim plan to open northern levels 1–4 while upper levels remain closed; he said about 310 stalls should be available for public use after obligations to other parties are met.

Library leaders said the downtown main library remains closed while restoration experts, Metro codes and the fire marshal require stamped architectural drawings and permits before renovation work can begin; no reopening date was given.
