I checked in on r/NationGuard to see what the troops thought of The Speech. 708 upvotes & counting.
Currently on orders in DC. Today Hegseth addressed my unit. We did some weird prayer thing, then after the moment of silence he says "Now raise your hand if you have three or more DUIs" I think too many of us put our hands up, so then he said "Now keep them up if you've ever cheated on your wife" still too many hands, so finally he said "and had a baby with with your mistress." At this point it was just me and two other soldiers. Secdef turned to my commander and said "I'm taking these fine gentlemen." We hit the bar by 10:30am and weren't released until 0100. Ask me anything.

Beyond it being an illegal order, NationGuard are paid by the State EXCEPT when in a FEDERAL mission, then the pay falls to the FEDS. Which are out of business at the current time. So ALL MILITARY and NATIONAL GUARD out of their home State, or working 100% VOLUNTARILY - cause they ain't being PAID
